I watched the first two sets of the Djokovic-Del Potro match searching for any sign of weakness in the tall Argentine’s game. I found none, and in fact felt that he had Djokovic on the defensive when the match was called in the waning light on Friday night. Despite a year’s absence from the tour, and a comeback interrupted by a slight tear high in the quadricep that put his return to Roland Garros in doubt, Del Potro served well, hit out with authority on his ground strokes, and competed fearlessly against the tour’s dominant player.
